After months of careful planning, hours and hours of searching for flights, lodging and activities, and weeks of trying to contain my excitement, the time had finally arrived. I set my out of office at least a week before I left. I was SOOOO happy to be off for two weeks. TWO WEEKS! I hadn’t had two weeks off work since I was 19 so needless to say, this vacation was long overdue! 😆 I rented a car Friday night and early the next morning Gaisha and I started our journey driving from Nashville to Atlanta.

Our flight to London had an 8 hour layover in Toronta Canada (YYZ), so we decided not to waste a minute and headed out to do a little exploring. When we landed in Toronto we took a train from the airport to Union Station and walked to the harbor which was about 6 or 7 blocks away. It was a perfect day; sunny but cool.

We found a harbor tour that lasted about an hour and took us around the Toronto Islands. The islands are home to parks, the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, a small residential community, several boat clubs, an amusement park and several sand beaches.

After the tour we headed bak to Union Station just in time to grab some food at Corso Italia. I had a delicious margherita pizza and a few stiff drinks to prepare for our next flight. Next stop London!!!
